Racism v BLM

It's so easy to call people names.

Trump does it all the time.

There is a concerted effort to link Black Lives Matter with Marxism. Indeed, two of the founders admit to being Marxist, but is that where the movement is today?

"The movement has grown and broadened dramatically. Many Americans, few of whom would identify as Marxists, support Black Lives Matter, drawn to its message of anti-racism." -politifact

Calling the movement marxist is an effort by certain whites to hang onto power by demonizing those protesting the brutality of our society against backs and other people of color.

If enough of us see the concerted efforts by the likes of "Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer; Ben Carson, Trump’s secretary of Housing and Urban Development; conservative talk show host Mark Levin; and PragerU, which has more than 4 million Facebook followers" (politifact), as an attempt to discredit the oppressed while holding onto power, we can change or shift this paradigm.

Bullied

This tactic has been used before. Right after World War I, troops were called out to squash the labor movement. They were seen as the Red Menace. Mobs of whites were incited by incendiary language from their leaders to rape and pillage whole communities in the last century. I remember Joe McCarthy tarnishing reputations and ruining lives for his own political gain and grab for power. I remember listening to right wing pundits in the 60's and 70's try to discredit the civil rights movement by claiming that movement was motivated by Russian agents, and it's leaders were accused of being morally aberrant.

All of this is a stain on a country that was built on the premise that all men (people) are created equal. Now, that's a Christian value that you should hold onto. We're all equally important in the eyes of God. No exceptions.
