Must We Fear the Other?

Trump wants to us fear, then hate the other. That's his power.

His lies about Federal aid to the victims of Helena are weirdly warped into his hateful depictions of immigrants.

The first narrative is from NBC news.

False claims that federal emergency disaster money was given to migrants in the U.S. illegally have spread quickly in recent days, boosted by former President Donald Trump and some of his most high-profile supporters.

Trump repeated one of the more extreme baseless allegations during a rally Thursday in Saginaw, Michigan, saying that the money had been stolen.

"They stole the FEMA money, just like they stole it from a bank, so they could give it to their illegal immigrants that they want to have vote for them this season,” Trump said.

And, of course, millions believe this. It's a total fabrication.

The second narrative is reported by the Associated Press.

Far-right extremist groups warn on social media that officials plan to bulldoze affected communities and seize the land from residents. A tale straight from science fiction asserts that Washington used weather control technology to steer Helene toward Republican voters in order to tilt the presidential election toward Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.

An unbelievable assertion, believed by millions who think Trump is the chosen one in a fight of good versus evil.

This is such a waste of our time and the united efforts needed to face the challenges that confront us. Feeding the hungry. Giving shelter to the homeless. Lending a hand after catastrophic events. Facing and finding solutions for climate change. Standing against unjust aggression. Ending loneliness. Giving healing and  comfort to the sick. Advocating for the unjustly imprisoned.

I can only conclude the distractions are intentional, and then question, why?
